Our Founding Story

It all began in the small town of Chiaroscuro, Italy, where Luca's childhood was shaped by the shadows of political unrest and economic hardship. Raised by a single mother working three jobs, Luca dreamed of creating technology that could bring hope and joy to those who felt isolated. At university, his passion for AI met Mariana’s brilliance. Mariana, from Recife, Brazil, survived a devastating flood as a child which forced her family to rebuild everything from scratch. Her resolve to empower people through technology was unshakable.

Drawn together by their complementary strengths, Luca and Mariana crossed paths with Kojo, a Ghanaian adventurer who defied norms after growing up in remote Aburi. He became an expert in user experience, dedicated to making AI accessible to every culture and background. Finally, the team was completed by Anya from Ukraine, a former circus performer who endured hardships during political upheaval and transitioned into a creative engineer with a unique sense of design and invention.

Together, in a co-working space in Lisbon, they toiled through sleepless nights, powered by passion and cups of espresso, to create what would become FlongSuxxa. The name itself was born from their inside joke about ‘flinging’ preconceived notions about relationships out the window and ‘suxxa’ meaning success in their mixed Lingua Franca.

• Luca – Chief Officer of Office Fun
  Hailing from Italy, Luca was a coding prodigy who found joy in storytelling through software. Despite struggling to afford his education, he hustled with freelance projects to fund his studies. Luca’s flair for office culture keeps FlongSuxxa’s work environment dynamic and vibrant. He ensures every team meeting is an event, blending humor with productivity to maintain morale and creativity.



• Mariana – Director of Emotional Intelligence Development
  Growing up amidst the favelas of Recife, Mariana’s childhood taught her resilience and empathy. She studied psychology and computer science together to architect AI that understands human emotions deeply.
